Friendly Addiction - Culture Is Not Tradition — It Means Showing Up

Don’t talk culture to me when you don’t have the emotional quotient that goes with it. When people speak about culture, they often point to traditions, religion, heritage, or social identity. But to me, culture is something far deeper than rituals or backgrounds. Culture is the act of showing up. It is the willingness to be present when no one else is there — when trauma is difficult to process, when loss creates an endless vacuum, when grief has the capacity to swallow the life out of someone. Culture reveals itself in the moments when life is at its most fragile. After death. After accidents. At funerals. During interventions. During rehabilitation. After emotional breakdowns. After panic attacks. After meltdowns. In such moments, human beings do not need lectures or explanations. They need presence. Souls need connection to face the unknown. Yet often people confuse culture with very different things. They measure culture by professional achievements, by the titles they hold ...

Introducing A Portal Of Short Stories

It's been 10 years since "innocent thoughts" came into existence. It all started from getting a mere 150 yearly visitors to around 1500 visitors now. Thank you all for following my page on Facebook, or reading my blog directly all this while. Now as we come to the end of this year, I wanted to introduce the other half of innocent thoughts that comprises of short stories. Stories that touch your soul, stories that have helped me overcome a lot of challenges faced with time.

Speechless Moon: A story of two individuals coming back to understand each other way better than they did the first time. Careful as you read this piece it becomes more and more deep-rooted into the caricature of where we all find ourselves at some point in time. This was the first ever story I published online and shared it with friends who instantly drew towards the narration of the story. Go On give it a try.

Love is A Myth: A story of a life saved with an unknown change tells a lot about how life works in real. It's filled with excitement and remorse but most obviously love.

The New Year's Eve: This is where I have tried narrating the story in successive parts and made it a good long read for you readers. So make sure you have some time to jump on the various parts of this lively story that has anger, courage, disappointment and selfless love.

Coincidence: Is what always makes you wonder how is that possible but when that happens you start believing in what we call coincidence. These are the incidents which we live for and think of when we start getting rid of the memories that hold us back from moving ahead in life. It may be a dream that never happened or a wise mishap to be forgotten and forbidden. Read it to see what leads to being the perfect coincidence.

Nevember: Your heart stops and you think about something that happened which makes all your experiences go bitter with life. Such glimpses do occur and this is one such short awkwardness that leaves you sore but in the end, calms you down while you still stand sober after all the heavy circumstances you have been through. Don't miss this one for sure.

Many more to come as you party all night long welcoming the next year.
Reach out to me for any suggestions or comments which I look forward to after each post I make.
